Starting the Zumba

Zumba lasts for about an hour and presents different dance moves coming from regions in Latin America. Some of the included moves are influenced by the meringue, salsa, reggaeton and even belly dance and hip hop. It provides an excellent cardiovascular workout, where you can burn as much as 450 calories an hour. Choreographing the program can be quite challenging, so it’s important that you begin each session by doing a few stretches and toning exercises.

The Choreography

Start choreographing the Zumba workout by doing samba moves for about 5 minutes. You can use the basic forward and back movements, keeping your heart rate up. After that, switch to merengue dance movements for another 5 minutes. The merengue is composed of 3 basic motions, namely the forward basic motions, the side basic motions and the back basic motions. These can be mixed in any way using variations in the posture as you dance.

After 5 minutes, move on to dancing the salsa for 5 minutes. Begin by tapping on the first beat, then step forward using the same foot. Back on the same foot then dance to variations of the motion. You might include reggae, hiphop, reggaeton and a number of belly dance movements during the workout. Mix the movements using the Latin dance moves. You’ll realise that the fusion of different dances and rhythms make Zumba truly unique.

The type you’re in

If you think you’re among those who are prone to hair loss, the first thing that you need to know is what are the specific types of hair loss. This will serve as a sign if you’re really into losing your hair in the long run or not.

The first type is the “androgenetic alopecia” or commonly known as the pattern baldness. Males and females who are prone to this experience slow growth of hair as well as weaker stands of hair compared before. In this condition, the main cause could be heredity because the history of pattern baldness might increase your risks of losing your hair. Because of heredity, age is also affected which in turn speeds up the rate of hair loss.

Another type is called, “cicatricial alopecia” or the scarring alopecia, which is a type of permanent hair loss, occurs caused by inflammation. In this condition, the inflammation was able to damage the hair’s follicle and later, became scars. Because of these scars, the new hair is prevented from coming out. Scarring alopecia can be caused by certain skin conditions like lupus erythematosus and lichen planus wherein experts are yet to discover what is it that causes the inflammation. (more…)

Six pack Myth 1:  Abdominal muscle is different from regular muscle.

Muscle is muscle.  Abdominal muscle is the same with our biceps and lats.  The only difference is the location.  Abdominal muscles are not resting on a bony surface, instead it’s against the stomach and intestines.  There’s no significant difference whatsoever.

Six pack Myth 2:  Strong abs means a strong back.

The key to a strong back is a balanced abdominal muscles.  You can work your abs, but no more and no less than you work your other muscles throughout the day.   There are heavy emphasis on working your abs, this heavy emphasis is often misunderstood to be the contributor of food health.  Infomercials give the false belief that by working out just one part of your body will give your health great benefits.
